The Faculty

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism includes 8 full-time and 1 part-time faculty, (8 MDs and 1 PhD).  Faculty have a diverse range of clinical and research interests and expertise, providing an excellent environment for fellowship training in clinical and basic laboratory endocrine investigation. 

Harold E. Carlson, MD

Drs. Sussman, Kugler and Shanik are in private practice in the area. Dr. Sussman is a 2001 graduate, and Dr. Kugler a 1987 graduate of the Endocrinology fellowship program at Stony Brook. Dr. Shanik completed his Endocrinology fellowship at North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System in 2007.
